Ten staff members of the Mirigama Hospital have contracted Yellow Fever. Officials of the hospital said that four staff members who are ill are currently receiving in-house treatment.
Authorities suspect that the disease would have been contracted due to the consumption of polluted water drawn from a well in the area. Officials say that samples of water from the well are being subject to laboratory tests at present.
Residents in the area have been warned and drawing water out of the well has been prohibited.
