The number of those injured in the train collision that occurred in Pothuhera has risen to 68 with four in critical condition. Two trains have collided head on in the Pothuhera area in Kurunegala.
The trains had collided near the Pothuhera Railway Station.
The accident had taken place at around 8.45 a.m. on Wednesday morning.
One of the trains that had collided, was the Rajina train which had been plying from Matara to Vavuniya while the other express train was plying from Colombo Fort to Pallai.
The Railway Control Room says that the injured have been admitted to the Kurunegala General Hospital.
