Authorities have decided not to increase the fares of buses plying along the Southern Expressway and the Colombo-Katunayake Expressway reduced in lieu of the Sinhala and Tamil New year.
Chairman of the Expressway Transport Service Company, L.A. Wimalaratne said that the charges reduced during the festive season were to be implemented until Monday.
However, he noted that the fares reduced for the convenience of the passengers would not be raised again.He said that with the reduction of the fares, many passengers have become regular users of buses plying along the expressways.
Wimalaratne stated that measures would therefore be taken to provide the necessary buses for transport.
