President appoints diplomats to three countries

President Mahinda Rajapaksa on Friday nominated a  high commissioner and two ambassadors for three countries.

The Ministry of External Affairs said that the current Sri Lankan High Commissioner to India, Prasad Kariyawasam has been nominated as the New Sri Lankan Ambassador to the United States of America.

Former Secretary of the Ministry External Affairs Karunathilake Amunugama has been named at the Sri Lankan Ambassador Designate to Germany.

Meanwhile, the Former Director General of the Central Cultural Fund Professor Sudarshan Seneviratne has been named as the New Sri Lankan High Commissioner to India.

Meanwhile, President’s Spokesperson Mohan Samaranayake announced that Lakshman Hulugalle who was the Director General of the Media Centre for National Security has been appointed as the New Sri Lankan Deputy High Commissioner to Australia.
