The US Ambassador to Sri Lanka, Michele J. Sison, met with the Chief Prelate of the Malwathu Chapter of Siam Sect, the Most Venerable Thibbatuwawe Sri Sumangala Thera, in Kandy on Friday morning.

The Ambassador who met with the Chief Prelate at the Malwathu Maha Viharaya in Kandy, held discussions with the Chief Prelate for about one hour.

The Chief Prelate had noted at this occasion that a situation has arisen where incidents that do not occur in Sri Lanka have been brought on to the international stage and that it is important to make inquiries and study these matters.

He added that while all communities in Sri Lanka are living and working in harmony, the Ambassador, could if she wishes, make inquiries into this, first hand.
