Today marks Day Four of Around the World in 40 Days,  a 40-day world tour organised by News1st and Sri Lanka Youth, parallel to the World Youth Conference that will be held in Sri Lanka this year.

This is the Selamat Datang Monument located in Central Jakarta, Indonesia.(Please watch video)

Completed in 1962, the monument is one of the historic landmarks of Jakarta constructed to welcome the athletes who participated in the Asian Games.

“Thamrin” road which is a road in close proximity to where the statue is located is closed every Sunday morning due to various activities organised by the youth in the area.

One lane of the road is segregated for buses while the others are for cyclists and pedestrians.

The Sri Lankan delegation vising Indonesia as part of the forty day world tour  engaged in various activities.

This road is also used for individuals who wish to engage in excersices but during weekdays the road is known to be one of the most congested in the city.
