A voter turnout 55 to 60 percent – observes PAFFEREL

The People’s Action for Free and Fair Elections or PAFFEREL says that 55 to 60 percent of the eligible voters had exercised their franchise at today’s Western and Southern Provincial Council Polls.

Six districts went to polls on Saturday at 7 a.m. and voting closed at 4 p.m.

Polls were conducted across 4,253 voting centres in Gampaha, Colombo, Kaluthara, Matara, Galle, and Hambanthota. According to the Election official 608 counting centre have been established.

Royal College Colombo, Isipathana and DS Senanayake College will be the main counting centres for Colombo District. Meanwhile, 59 centres have been established to count postal votes.
