S. Thomas’ clinches victory at encounter with Royal

S. Thomas’ College, Mount Lavinia clinched victory  at the annual one day encounter against Royal College, Colombo at the SSC grounds in Colombo on Saturday.

Batting first, Royal College, Colombo were bowled out 235 runs in 49 overs.

G. Panditharathne and H.Samarasinghe opened the innings for the Royalists and put an opening stand of 53 runs.

Captain for the Royal team, Chamika Karunaratne was the top scorer for the team, with 84 runs. G. Panditharathne and H.Ramanayake chipped in with 36 and 23 runs.

Batting in reply S. Thomas’ College, Mount Lavinia reached the target in 48.3 overs with five wickets to spare

Tharindu Ratnayake top scored for the lads from Mount Lavania with 70 runs, while Savitha Jayathilake chipped in with 40 runs.
