Support in Hanwella from land and water as election fever heats up

Many candidates have been using flamboyant and appealing election campaigns for the upcoming Western and Southern Provincial Council Elections.

But now we are witnessing supporters showing their support in unusual ways. (Please watch video)

An individual stayed afloat for forty one minutes with his feet tied, in the lower Hanwella area in the Kelaniya River on Saturday.

He said that his action was a tribute to Bharatha Lakshman Premachandra and act to hope for the victory of Hirunika Premachandra. Karunarathna Jayasinghe who is a resident of Banadaragama is an accomplished swimmer.
