Leader of the Janasetha Peramuna Venerable Battaramulle Seelarathana Thero submitted a letter to the Chief Justice requesting that the law be equally implemented to all.
Venerable Battaramulle Seelarathana Thero, who arrived at the Office of the Chief Justice, requested the security personnel there to be allowed to meet with the Chief Justice.
However, his request was denied.
Subsequently a representative arrived to receive the letter on behalf of the Chief Justice.
Venerable Battaramulle Seelarathana Thero said: “Is the law being implemented only on the poor people of this country. Not long ago, Ministers hurled stones at judges. Judges could not even step into the streets. Certain politicians interfered with the Judiciary. They receive bail and are pardoned. Then, why aren’t the poor people receiving pardons from the Judiciary. There is one law for the person with money and another for the ministers.”
