Those who play cricket on roads are likely to lose more than a wicket

Playing cricket on roads will land us behind bars,  according to police.

Police say those who engage in sports activities such as cricket on roads will be arrested.

Speaking at a media briefing on Wednesday Police Media Spokesperson SSP Ajith Rohana said activities that cause interruption to movement on the roads are prohibited.

He also added that three youths were arrested in Slave Island recently for playing cricket on the road.

The Police Media Spokesperson tabled the following activities on as punishable offences.

 

  1. Playing on roads
  2. Using roads for concrete mixing
  3. Washing vehicles on roads.
  4. Acting in a manner that blocks the road.
