The human – elephant conflict has been waging on for quite some time in the country, with heavy damages inflicted on both sides.
However, in a possible way to draw an end to this battle, a Sri Lankan youth says he has successfully managed to invent a new mechanism as a solution.
Malith Hasun, a student of the Kegalle Technical College has invented a device that can ward off elephants by using radio waves.
Newsfirst caught up with this young inventor from Kandy, to tell us more about the new device that might be a solution to the age old war between humans and elephants.
Newsfirst notified the Minister of Wildlife and Conservation, Vijith Vijamuni Soysa on this device, who had this to say,
“We have focussed our attention on such inventors. We are currently in the process of creating a separate unit and team to examine these new technological inventions. Specially, because President Rajapaksa has also advised us to focus our attention towards such new inventions.”
