President Mahinda Rajapaksa departed for Myanmar on an official visit on Monday.
According to Presidential Media Coordinating Secretary, Wijeyananda Herath, the President is due to attend the 3rd BIMSTEC Summit that is will commence in Myanmar.
Herath noted, that President Mahinda Rajapaksa will attend the summit on Tuesday.
BIMSTEC or the Bay of Bengal Initiative for Multi-Sectoral Technical and Economic Cooperation brings together representatives of seven countries namely Sri Lanka, Myanmar, Bangladesh, Bhutan, India, Nepal and Thailand.
