The police said that vehicle movement will be restricted from Nawaloka Junction to the Peliyagoda Fish Market along the Negombo Road for four days starting from Saturday.

The police said that this measure was taken as the road is being resurfaced. Motorists are therefore advised to use alternate routes.

Therefore, vehicles plying from Peliyagoda to Nawaloka roundabout can enter the Colombo Katunayake Expressway from Peliyagoda and could re-enter the Colombo – Negombo road from the expressway exit.

Vehicles moving from Negombo to Colombo meanwhile,  could enter the Colombo-Katnayake Expressway from near the fish market and travel towards Colombo.

The police further said that vehicles not allowed on the expressway which includes three-wheelers, motorcycles, bikes and tractors as well as residents in the restricted area,  as well as buses could use the Colombo – Negombo road as usual.
