Police obtains ninety-day detention order for UNP candidate Royce Fernando

The police say that they have obtained a ninety-day detention order in order to interrogate UNP Western Provincial Council Candidate, Royce Fernando who allegedly robbed a jewellery store in Negombo.

Police say that three suspects have been arrested in connection with the incident so far. Two individuals who arrived on a motorcycle recently stole a sum of nearly Rs.15 million.

The police have commenced investigations in order to arrest other suspects in connection with the incident who are currently in hiding.
