Lahiru Thirimanne scored a century against Pakistan in the first match of the twelfth Asia Cup One-Day Cricket Tournament.
His ton gave Sri Lanka a solid foundation which was later built up by the other batsmen including Sanga.
He slammed 102 runs from 110 balls, with 11 fours and one six, before losing his wicket to Saeed Ajmal.
Thirimanne also became the first player to score a century in the first match of the 12th Asia Cup.
Sangakara who also displayed his extraordinary batting skills once again, scored 67 runs in 65 balls.
