Hashan Tillakaratne’s wife on why they left the UNP

Wife of former cricketer Hashan Tillakaratne, Apsari Thilakaratne states she joined the government along with her husband because they were disappointed with the UNP.

She further stated, that she has devoted herself, to have her husband Hashan Tilakaratne, elected to Parliament.

Apsari Thilakaratne made this comment in an interview with Newsfirst Suranga Senanayake on our  segment Newsline aired on Sirasa TV news, on Thursday night.

Hashan Thilakaratne was a former UNP councillor in the Western Provincial Council and the Chief Organiser of the Avissawella Electorate.

Following an issue that arose with Danuna Tillakaratne, he remained silent on the political arena for some time.

Hashan Thilakaratne, together with his wife then later joined the UPFA.
