The train strike carried by the Locomotive Operating Engineers Union has been temporarily called off.

The Association stated that even though they had discussions with the Minister of Transport, Kumara Welgama, they decided to temporarily call off the strike action, after taking into consideration the situation that would arise if the strike continues.
