Was the passing of the controversial proposals to restructure the ICC at the ICC Board meeting in Singapore yesterday, the result of a major betrayal?

Sportsfirst’s investigative journalism segment, the Bitter Truth, dwells deep into this issue.

On January 20, on the programme Inside Sports, telecast on Sirasa TV, Sportsfirst highlighted for the first time, the disadvantageous nature of the proposals that were adopted by the ICC Board in Singapore on Saturday.

Sports Minister, Mahindananda Aluthgamage, who was a guest on the programme noted that Sri Lanka as a country is opposed to the new proposals as they were disadvantageous to countries like Sri Lanka.

The Minister of Sports also noted that three members of the Executive Committee of Sri Lanka Cricket had discussed the proposals with him.

At a conference convened by SLC last Wednesday to discuss the proposals to restructure the ICC, the consensus reached was that Sri Lanka should oppose these proposals.
