The fourth round of trials to select the final 100 contenders for Super Fighter, Sri Lanka’s first sports reality TV programme, concluded in Pallekele, Kandy on Sunday.
The fourth round of trials commenced in Pallekele on Saturday with the intention of selecting the best boxers from the Matale and Kandy Districts for the final 100 contenders for Super Fighter.
Super Fighter, is a joint initiative of MAS Holdings and News 1st and the MTV and MBC media network.
The goal of Super Fighter is to identify amateur boxers from across the island and catapult them onto the national and international arena. A training camp was held parallel to the fourth round of trials in Pallekele.
Over 350 aspiring boxers participated at the training camp. Boxers were selected from four weight classes. Sports equipment was donated to Nugawela Central College, Kandy, parallel to the fourth round of trials for Super Fighter.
How many boxers from Matale and Kandy will qualify to contend for the coveted title of Super Fighter?
