Plans underway to send more police officers to ‘election areas’

Plans are afoot to increase the number of police officers assigned for duty in areas in which the  upcoming provincial polls are scheduled to take place.

Police Media Spokesperson SSP Ajith Rohana said that the police patrol vehicles will also be used to beef up security in these areas.

The Police Media Spokesperson also noted that the police will not relent to use force if duty activities of police officers are disrupted by supporters of political parties.
