Sri Lankan cricket maestro Kumar Sangakkara has yet again managed to set a number of records today.

Sangakkara has become the player to have scored a triple century in the 1st innings and then a century in his second innings after 24 years since Graham Gooch set the record.
Sangakkara scored 319 runs in the first innings and 105 runs in the second innings.
The speciality of the record was that he managed to score both the triple century and the second innings century with sixers.

Furthermore, Sangakkara is placed third among the batsmen who had scored the most amount of runs in a test match.

Graham Gooch (456) and Mark Taylor (426) is placed on the top of the list. Kumar Sangakkara scored 424 runs in the match. However, Sangakkara was unfortunately bowled out by the attack right after he managed to score his century.
