Dinuda Abeysekara of Royal Central College, Polonnaruwa set a new national record in the 48kg. women’s weight lifting category.

Dinuda set up the new record by lifting a weight of 76kgs in the clean and jerk method at the National Weightlifting Championship, currently underway in Kandy.

The previous record in the same category was held by Dinuda herself.
