A resolution, that a group from the Northern Provincial Council too should attend the UN Human Rights Council session in Geneva, this March, was adopted by the Northern Provincial Council on Monday.
The resolution was put forward by Northern Provincial Councillor, Anandhi Shasheedaran.
Sixteen resolutions were adopted at the fifth session of the Northern Provincial Council on Monday, including a resolution pledging support to programmes undertaken by the international community to protect human rights.
Anandhi Shasheedaran also put forward a resolution that the Northern Provincial Council should conduct a separate survey, as data collected by the government on persons who died or went missing during the war, could not be trusted.
