A person has drowned in the Gagawalaana wewa in Kamburupitiya.

The police said that the deceased was a twenty-one-year-old girl who was residing in the Beli-Koratuwa area in Ura-pola.

The body has been placed at the Matara Hospital, following a magisterial inquest,  for the post-mortem examination.
