Australian Prime Minister Tony Abbott arrived in Sri Lanka on Friday evening.

He was received at the Bandaranaike International Airport  by Sri Lankan Prime Minister D.M. Jayaratne.

It is learnt that Prime Minister Abbot stopped over in  Sri Lanka while returning to Australia after a foreign visit.
