The Railway Control Room says no trains are operating from the Colombo Fort Railway Station.

The Railway Control Room went on to say that this situation arose at 12 Wednesday afternoon as locomotive engineers failed to report to work on Wednesday.

Chairman of the Locomotive Engineers Association, I.L.K. Dissanayake said that locomotive engineers commenced a strike action this afternoon citing several demands.

I.L.K. Dissanayake went on to say that they will continue with the strike action until the General Manager of‘ Railways intervenes to resolve their issues.
