President Mahinda Rajapaksa says that no race will be allowed to dominate another in the country.
The president said that whatever the views of the international community be, the citizens of the country are happy to be able to travel in peace within the country, from Point Pedro to Dondra Head.
The President also noted that the army personnel in the north has been reduced to 12,000.
The President expressed these views attending an event to mark the opening of a cancer hospital in Tellippalai, Jaffna on Sunday morning.
The president further noted that the government remained committed to protecting the democracy of the public through elections.
The construction of the cancer hospital had reportedly cost Rs.300 million.
