Speaking at a meeting in Minuwangoda, Project Minister Rohitha Abeygunwardena commented on the United National Party.

He said; “United National Party is looking for candidates. They are waiting by the road in search of candidates. They are asking anyone that passes by if they interested in contesting from the UNP. However, everyone refuses.  Ranil Wickremesinghe made this Leadership Council with the hope of winning the Western and Southern Provincial Councils. By the 18th of March there will be  12 members in this leadership council. By March they might increase it upto 40. Even if J.R. Jayawardene is resurrected  the United Peoples Freedom Alliance will win the West and the South. No one can stop it my friends.”
