Depositors of Central Investment and Finance PLC who are facing a crisis have submitted a letter requesting an audience with the President to discuss the problems they are faced with.
The CIFL Depositors’ Association said they had submitted the letter to the Presidential Secretariat on Wednesday morning. Depositors of Central Investment and Finance PLC or CIFL, who have been unable to reclaim their deposits, staged a demonstration in Colombo on Wednesday.
They staged a protest march from the Public Library to the Town Hall and then held a peaceful demonstration at Lipton Circus. Following the demonstration, several representatives of the Association, departed for the Presidential Secretariat to hand over their request for an audience with the President.
