Fishermen who were held in custody in Sri Lanka and India were released to their security units in the northern  seas on Tuesday. Accordingly, the Sri Lankan Naval Coast guard had handed over to India, six Indian fishermen along with two boats .

Likewise, twelve Sri Lankan fishermen along with two boats were released to Sri Lankan officials.

The Sri Lankan fishermen will be released by Indian Coast guard officials at the maritime boundaries of both   countries off Kankesanthurai.
