A rally organised by the JVP was held in Matara on Sunday under the auspices of JVP Politburo Member, MP Anura Kumara Dissanayake.

JVP Politburo Member, MP Anura Kumara Dissanayake said,  ” The largest stock of Heroin in Asia was discovered here. Two hundred and sixty one (261) kilogrammes That is about five and a half sacks of the flour used to bake bread in the bakeries.”

“A shot of Heroin is half a teaspoon. All the people in the country can be given three square meals comprising of Heroin, a day for seven years. Do not take it if you are given. The Prime Minister addresses letters to clear the consignment and then says he is unaware.”

The Pakistani national was staying at his house he even helped  his son’s election campaign for two or three months..”

Anura Kumara Dissanayake also commented on the price of milk powder.

He said, “When it is unloaded at the Colombo Harbour, a kilogramme of milk powder is Rs.325 . Why is it Rs.700  when it is sold? A tax of more than 100 percent or more than Rs.350  is being charged on each kilogramme of milk powder.”

“This is a government that taxes all essential food items. This is because the government has no other way to make money. They are taxing everything that the ordinary people consume and are granting tax concessions for themselves .”
