Today marks the end of the illustrious test cricket life of legend, South African, Jaques Kallis.

An all-rounder, Jacques Kallis played his last match on his last test match series that ended on Monday ending an eighteen year long test cricket life.  Kallis who made his debut into test cricket on the 14th of December in 1995 in a match against England, has played in 166 test matches including his last match.

He had made a score of 13289. It was a significant achievement that he managed to score a total run of 115, in his last match. He had scored 45 centuries and 58 half centuries in his career as a test batsman.

Jacques Kallis is placed 3rd among the highest scored batsmen in test cricket. Kallis who is also a successful bowler has got a total amount of 292 wickets. The South African all-rounder has won the ‘Player of the Match’ title 23 times, also happens to be the cricket player to have been awarded the title the most.

He was also awarded the title of the ‘Player of the Series’ nine times and is placed second on that list.

A true cricket legend,  Jaques Kallis, was born on the 16th of October 1975, in Cape Town, South Africa.
