A fire has erupted in the Pubudugama forest reserve which is a part of the Muthurajawela Forest Reserve.

Police stated that the fire is continuing to spread and that the fire brigade had been called in to contain the fire.

Police also added that the fire has by now spread to over four acres of the reserve.
