The Independent Teachers Union charges that the teachers who marked the scripts of the last Advanced Level Examination have not been paid yet.

Chief Secretary of the Independent Teachers Union Sarath Kahagalla said that about 25,000 teachers are facing hardships due to non-payment.

When Newsfirst inquired into the matter from the Examinations Commissioner , WMNJ Pushpakumara, he said that all the receipts with regard to the payments have been prepared. He went on to state that the teachers would be paid as soon as the funds are received from the treasury.
