The Wildlife Department has taken steps to conduct a study into the physical harm and property damages caused by monkeys. The department said that at present, the monkey population is rapidly increasing.
Thereby, the Wildlife Department is to neuter monkeys in a bid to control the population and curb the problems caused by them. The Department said that the habitat destruction of species like the Monkey (Wadura), Toque Monkey (Rilawa), and the Black Monkey has caused these animals to move into urban areas.
