SL Army personnel to be deployed for Lebanon mission

The Sri Lanka Army is to deploy 150 Sri Lankan army personnel for a United Nations peace-keeping mission in Lebanon.

Army Media Spokesperson, Brigadier Ruwan Wanigasuriya said that the army personnel who will be deployed to Lebanon have been given a special reason. Ruwan Wanigasuriya added that currently 150 Sri Lankan military personnel are deployed in Lebanon on peace keeping missions.

He further said that in addition to this group,  a further 750 soldiers are on peacekeeping duty in Haiti.
