Chief Incumbent of the Hunupitiya Gangarama Temple in Colombo, Venerable Galaboda Gnanissara Thero celebrated his 70th birthday on Saturday.

A large group arrived at the Temple on Saturday morning to extend their best wishes to Venerable Galaboda Gnanissara Thero. Venerable Galaboda Gnanissara Thero was born on December 14 in 1943 in the village known as Galboda in Matara.

“Sirasa is a media channel which operates from the home-town of the Gangarama Temple in Hunupitiya, We are extremely pleased with Sirasa for what is does for Buddhism. Because if the Buddhists do not become intelligent, patient, generous and even positive, they will be a burden to others. Therefore, if other communities are to live in peace and harmony, Buddhists must become a disciplined and a moral community. We are thankful for Sirasa for making a journey in this path.”
