A burial ground dated over 28,000 years ago, belonging to the megalithic has been uncovered in an excavation in the Akaragolla area, in Ambanpola, Mahawa.
Project Manager of Yapahuwa, attached to the Central Cultural Fund P.R.M.S Bandaranayake said that 10 burial markers had been found in these burial grounds.
He noted that a wealth of information could be gleaned into the dynasties of ancient man in Sri Lanka through this discovery.
