Chairman of the Maharaja Organisation is not required to be present at court on December 11 in connection to the petition filed by UNP Parliamentarian Mangala Samaraweera.

The court is yet to decide on whether notice will be issued or not on that date.  A notice was issued on the Chairman of the Capital Maharaja Organisation Limited, to appear at the Matara Magistrate’s Court on December 11.

The notice was issued following the consideration of a petition filed by UNP Parliamentarian Mangala Samaraweera, pertaining to using the media to incite the public. The order was issued by Matara Additional Magistrate Manjula Karunaratne on November 25.

The order was sought under the Criminal Procedure Code Act No.15 of 1979 Section 81.
