“When the government is granting tax concessions for things like casinos, which go against the teachings of Lord Buddha, we believe that it is very important to give our children an understanding of the teachings of Buddhism.”

UNP Parliamentarian Dr. Harsha de Silva attended an event held in Kotte on Sunday morning.

This event was organised to donate equipment to children from the Dhamma School at the Sri Naga Viharaya in Kotte. Speaking at the event, Dr. Harsha de Silva expressed the following views,

“Grants made by the government for Dhamma schools are extremely low. At a time when the financial allocation per Pirivena student has only been increased to 5 rupees a day, we see it as our responsibility to provide them with these facilities. We are dedicated to this cause.”
