Health Services say that a large section of society are faced with daily problems due to various different aches and pains.
Chairman of the Faculty of Pain Management of the College of Anaesthesiologists of Sri Lanka, Dr. Kumuduni Ranatunga said that the treatments for patients suffering from pains have rapidly increased, noting that with the proper treatment, the problems faced by patients could be greatly reduced.
A pain management unit was recently opened at the Colombo National Hospital.
Meanwhile, Dr. Kumuduni Ranatunga said that pain management units were operated in a number of other hospitals in the country.
