An army personnel in Gurubabila, Balangoda has committed suicide by hanging himself.

Police said that he had hung himself early Sunday morning in a school building in front of his house. The thirty-two-year-old was serving in the Ampara Army Base and was married at the time of death.

The body has been placed in the Balangoda Hospital after being subject to a magisterial inquest.
