SLCTIP highlights agreements to be reached

The Sri Lanka – China Trade and Investment Promotion Chamber convening a press conference 0n Thursday highlighted that it will reach a number of agreements with several Chinese Councils over Co-operation.

It added that the agreements will be reached at Forum organised for later this year.  The Press Conference was titled : Sri Lanka – Sichuan Business Matchmaking Conference.

The Forum will be organised by the China Council for the promotion of international trade – Sichuan Council and the Sri Lanka – China Trade and investment Promotion Chamber.

President of SLCTIP, Nihal Aluvihare expressed these thoughts;

“The Sri Lanka – China Trade and Investment Chamber in collaboration with the North Western Provincial Council has organised a business forum with B2B meetings on the 1st of December 2013. The visiting Chinese delegation will cover among others, the following business categories : household requisites, LED Lights, foot items, pharmaceuticals and medical equipment, textile and leather, furnishing, power generators, electronics, automobile spares, liquor, hardware, mobile phones, engineering projects, energy conservation, ceramic law materials and other merchandise. At this forum the chamber will sign co-operation agreement with China Council for Promotion of International Trade – Sichuan Council , Guang An Council and Cengdu Council and the All China Machinery and Electronic Machinery Chamber.”

Additional Director General of SLCTIP, Mohan Perera shared these views;

“We are planning to achieve two billion dollars within the next two years. Our immediate meeting will be with 59 companies. And there will be 120 delegates coming for the immediate meeting. There will be more next year. So, our target for the next two years, will be two billion US dollars. People know what the real situation is in Sri Lanka. People talk so many facts. The investors know the truth about Sri Lanka and they are willing to proceed and support Sri Lanka economically ….”
