A musical was held at the BMICH in Colombo on Tuesday to mark the third anniversary of President Mahinda Rajapaksa’s assumption of office.
The function organised by the Presidential Social Development Director’s Office was attended by a distinguished gathering including Minister of National Language and Social Integration Vasudeva Nanayakkara and Parliamentary Coordinating Secretary to the President, Kumarasiri Hettige.
The musical which also featured rehabilitated former LTTE cardres was titled Mekala. Speaking at the event Minister Vasudeva Nanayakkara stated,
“Former LTTE suspects and activists who have now been rehabilitated have been included in this performance. They have transformed into artistes. We can consider this as a form of friendship that is being created among ethnicities.”
