UK Prime Minister David Cameron has met with the Northern Province Chief Minister C.V.Wigneswaran during his visit to Jaffna.
 
David Cameron has tweeted in his official tweeter account, “Political leaders in the north of Sri Lanka tell me they are glad I’ve come to help highlight what is happening here.”
 
UK Prime Minister David Cameron is currently on a visit to Jaffna following his participation at the inaugural ceremony of the Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting held in the morning at the Nelum Pokuna Mahinda Rajapaksa Theatre.
 
Following his visit to the North, the Prime Minister tweeted, “I’m the first PM or President to go to the north of Sri Lanka since 1948. I want to shine a light on chilling events there first hand.” 
The British Prime Minister arrived in the country on Thursday ahead of the Commonwealth Summit.
