Investigations commence as carriages detach from Colombo-bound trains

Two railway carriages detached from a train plying from Puttalam to Colombo Fort between the Lunuwila and Nattandiya railway stations.
 
The Railway Control Room said that the incident was reported at around 7 a.m. on Sunday.
 
Meanwhile, the Department of Railways has launched an investigation into an incident where several carriages of the Badulla – Colombo Night Mail train detached last morning while the train was on the move.
 
No injuries were reported in the incident , and the train was brought back to Colombo with all carriages intact.
 
According to the Railway Control Room the five carriages along the with the engine had detached from the 13 carriage train at around 7.30 last morning.
