UNP Condemns Treatment of Suresh Salley

COLOMBO (News 1st); The United National Party has stated, in a release, that it strongly condemns the treatment of Suresh Salley, alleging that it is in violation of the Constitution and international conventions.

The statement further noted that it would be appropriate to send a group of Members of Parliament to examine the manner in which Salley has been treated.

It also warned that if the treatment of Suresh Salley is normalized, similar measures could be applied to opposition groups as well, describing this as a highly dangerous trend.

The United National Party stressed that all actions taken against Major General Suresh Salley must strictly comply with the Constitution and international conventions.
