Deputy Principal injured in Balapitiya shooting

COLOMBO (News 1st). The Deputy Principal of a school in Ambalangoda was injured following a shooting on Friday (26) morning close to the Balapitiya Court Complex.

Police Spokesperson SSP Nihal Thalduwa told News 1st that two motorcycle gunmen had opened fire at the victim and fled the scene.

The injured man was identified as a 44-year-old, and Sri Lanka Police said that he was a relative of notorious criminal Kosgoda Suji.

Gunmen opened fire at him when he was traveling on the road, and the Police Spokesperson said the injured man was admitted to the hospital.
