Colombo (News 1st) - Brazilian soccer star Dani Alves was remanded by a Spanish magistrate on the charge of sexual assault of a woman last month. He has denied the charge.
The alleged assault had taken place in a Barcelona discotheque. Alves was arrested last Friday (20th).
Alves' Mexican club Universidad Nacional (UNAM) immediately announced that they have terminated his contract.
Alves has won domestic championships with clubs in Spain, Italy, and France and has won three Champions League titles with Barcelona.
